Spiders

Australia is home to approximately 10,000 spider species, including some of the world's most venomous.
In Cairns, there is a diverse range of spiders found within the region ranging from large to the very tiny. The most common type we encounter is the huntsman, which is considered a harmless spider as although they do possess venom they generally run away instead of acting aggressively.
Although spiders can be considered a pest, they can also be beneficial in that they do catch other insects such as mosquitos, cockroaches and flies.



Regular pest treatments are the best way to keep harmful spiders at bay.
